New Back Office Direct Revenue Reporting

With the May Madness Agent Promotion just days away, you can now keep track of your direct signups and direct signup revenue by logging into your agent backoffice and reviewing your total signup commission report. On the bottom of the report summary box you will see your direct signups and direct signup revenue in the section marked Total Level 0 Charges. Are you on Twitter?

Twitter is getting a lot of buzz now, especially after growing more than 130% in the month of March. Thanks to CNN and Kutcher, the growth is expected to be also very significant in April. There are already 14 million unique users in Twitter per compete.com.

“Twitter lets people know what’s going on about things they care about instantly, as it happens,” Evan Williams, Twitter’s CEO, told The New York Times. “In the best cases, Twitter makes people smarter and faster and more efficient.”

It is not just the numbers that is impressive, it is how influential it has become over the last couple months. There are many stories that breaks first in Twitter than any other media, and people connecting real time together.

However, one thing is indisputable that Twitter is gaining a lot of attraction among early adopters and influential people, so it is worthy to take a close eye on this amazing new platform.

A survey of Twitter users from MarketingProfs tells that on a scale from 1 to 5 (with 1 for strongly disagree and 5 and for strongly agree), the phrase “I find it exciting to learn new things from people” averaged a score of 4.65 and “I value getting information in a timely manner” averaged 4.58. It clearly shows that Twitter is not the best place to close a sales in one shot, but it is a very good tool to create credibility, expand your network and eventually increase your exposure which are key to any successful web entrepreneurs like you.

This campaign will help you increase your recharge commissions and eventually your return on your acquisition campaigns.

Be kind and efficient, thats all it takes for a successful email campaign.

We had a very successful recharge campaign in the last five days, one of the most successful one in years. Our agents will see a significant increase in their customer's recharges for the last week and this week. What is the recipe? simply, be kind and design an efficient email campaign.

Be kind: generosity always pays off. We knew that our customers would talk a lot during the Easter time, so we wanted to give them a gift from us and they can get the benefit immediately. We prepared a very simple to the point email design without any distraction and had a simple subject line. Hence the open rate was around 30% (which is not bad) and the response rate was very high.

Furthermore, we also knew that this campaign would generate extra commission revenue for our agents, so it was kind of our "thank you" for them for working with us all these years...

Efficiency: we do more than a dozen recharge campaigns from time to time a year to provide some discounts to our existing customers, and we have a good knowledge of all indicators and expectation on how each segment will react to any campaign. Any email campaign can become successful if two indicators work for you, first one is the Leverage and the second one is the Impact.

There are many challenges in email campaigns, the main one is that if you will have a positive return or not. Although the cost of sending email is nearly zero, there are other items in consideration of the cost such as given credits etc. So, what I call as leverage is how much revenue you generate for one dollar spend. If your leverage is higher than 5-6 you are in good shape (depending on the industry).

But that is not enough, because most of the time you might have a significant leverage (because your cost is nearly zero), but if your impact, an indication of how much revenue you generated is low, still your campaign might not succeed.

The best result happens when you have a balance of high leverage and impact. It is mainly a numbers game, you will need to sub-segment your target base, predict the expected open rate, response rate and formulate your offer accordingly to get the maximum effect with high leverage and impact at the same time. We did it successfully with this campaign and we will continue doing these campaigns going forward.


 

Easter Recharge Promotion

Recharge To celebrate Easter, we launched a Recharge Promotion between April 9th and April 14th for our existing customers and we are experiencing great results. With this recharge promotion customers can enjoy up to 20% discount on their recharges while you benefit from more recharge commissions.

 

Google's Search Based Keyword Tool

Another excellent post by Avinash to explain the wonders of Google's relatively new tool for keyword search, which is called Search Based Keyword Tool (SbKT). Google is doing a great job by offering many free tools for advertisers like you to improve your efficiency which will grow the pie. Please read Avinash's post to learn all the details on how to use the tool.

Avinash taps into an interesting point which is concentrating on Long Tail of keywords. The long tail consists of many more keywords with less traffic. It means, less competition and less cost per click. In SEM, there are two very important tasks; 1. finding relevant keywords and hence customers via search engines 2. sending them to a relevant landing page with the same scent of the message on the keyword. 

You can apply the tool on your website, or on ours or on your competitors to find the most relevant keywords. There are some limitations on the output if you apply it to a domain name that is not related to your adwords accounts, but hey, still you can get many keyword ideas.

With all the keywords, you then need to identify all the most relevant landing pages to send the traffic to. By the way, SbKT is taken care of that for your own domain as well. Today 90% of the time spent on SEM is on finding keyword, however, finding the relevant landing page is as important as the keyword itself.
